WAP and switch

hey guys (and gals),

i am looking for a solid 16 port switch option and also a WAP that is able to make it up from a basement to a second floor. The overall size of the house is small so its more of a distance issue of going up then out. the WAP could actually be a wireless router as i do need a router also. If there is a solid option for a wireless router i would just go with that and a switch.

WAP? Wireless Access Point? If that's the case, I'd just get a router. They are so common now, you can find much better deals on basic routers over plain AP's (even though most are practically identical hardware wise )

As for a switch, I'm sure there are more basic ones out there for less. Something like this should do you fine...

And don't forget you could connect a few smaller switches together if you found good deals on others. I actually have two routers running on the network here; one's simply being used for the switch.
