Well if you can cough up an extra $50 the "Intel Core2 Duo E7200 ' 2.54GHz ' FSB 1066MHz ' 3MB Cache" would be an awsome option.

Besides that I am not sure but I hear that AMD instead of Intel are the best for lower cost CPU's.

The E5200 is really the best CPU for under $100 in my opinion

stock performance wise, i think the e5200 and the x2 6000+ are fairly equal and will depend on the application which will be better. but the e5200 has extras like much better overclocking, more energy efficient, cooler, and slightly cheaper at the moment, so I give the edge to the e5200.
