Absolutely correct -- in theory. The 'flaw' of that is that no game currently even comes close to breaching AGP8X so whats the point of PCI-x (which is effectively AGP16x)?PCI-X is basically the same as a PCI port except its ALOT!!! faster. pci-x Should replace AGP pretty soon. But I think its still quite a while away from being 'common'.
PCI-X can really speed up graphics cards becuase it can transfer more data faster.

Thats like saying you can take a Ford Focus's engine, put it in a porsche chassis and it'll drive like a native-porsche...i though any card could use the same amount of bandwith as the port they're plugged into

Yes but considering nothing tests AGP8x ... not much point there .. not yet anyways3.5 times faster so I guess it is overt 16x+
