Watch movies in a different room

He there,

I have a few movies on my computer and thought it would be nice to watch them on TV without having to burn a DVD. My computer is in my bedroom and my living room is about 10 metres away (approx). What is the best way to hook my pc up to my TV in the next room?

I thought maybe running a tvout cable up the wall, through the ceiling and into other room but quite a long cable would be needed and I do not know if having the cable this long will stop it working or reduce the quality. Also it will be a very annoying thing to replaster the walls after. Is there a wireless solution available on the market?

I would also like my keyboard and mouse to work aswell, if i get a RF wireless keyboard and mouse would it be able to work at that distance and through a wall?

I hope someone out there can help as I do not have a clue!

there are some solutions

1. Buy apple TV. It has the remote control but not keyboard&mouse. Best choice IMO.

2. Yes, you are right. If you buy a very long cable, it will reduce the quality of the videos and it may load slowly.

3.Wireless(just like apple tv), You need a good reciever and a good access point. take a look at here:

well I have my PC hook up to my TV via TV-out and I use VLC to play any and every type of video format out to my TV, it also allows to you stream video over a network.

Its free, open source, and works on every platform.
