^^ Yup A better choice would be a PCI tuner card rather than usb. You will also obviously need a cable line! Dont skimp out and get a cheap one as you will most likely get what you pay for. In order to get a decent one you will prob have to fork out $100 or so
in the UK, companies like Channel 4 and BBC etc... allow for programs to be streamed off their sites... though its not like watching real tv, its certainly a cheaper and easier option than buying a tv tuner... lol... unless ofc you want to watch loads of channels.... lol
my dad has a card and it has the software on Winfast.. not sure of the card... but i can find it out for you ramodkk....
My dad has a TV antenna port in the study / radio room to the main antenna above my room . Works fine but it has to have nothing else running in the backround... you can have "some" things but not a lot of things going.
Oh, I forgot to give some real input.. hehe... My advice is be sure that it has a QAM receiver to actually get the HD channels. I have an HDTV (Samsung LN-R268W) that is around two years old, and my Mom just got a new one for the living room (an LG). Hers can receive the digital channels -- mine can't! Why NOT?! I paid $1100 at the time and that was the last display model, when she got hers for only $800. The difference: a QAM receiver. Her's has it, mine does not! So now I'm kinda pissed.
In fact, I myself am thinking about buying the ATI Radeon HD 800 card (something like that), just so that I could get the digital channels. If I do buy the card, I'll hook it up through the VGA port.
Don't let yourself get screwed over a minute detail.
