Water cooling for 2x GeForce 8800 GTS

I was planning on implementing a water cooling system to cool 2x GeForce 8800 GTS and a Q6600 CPU. But the blocks for GPU are freaking expensive (~$100.00 a pop).

But since I’ll have 2 GPUs, do you think I’ll be able to get the performance with the GPUs without OCing, thus requiring extraordinary cooling?

I plan to OC the CPU to 3.8 or 4.0, but if I don’t have to OC the GPUs to get great performance, it’ll save me a ton.

Thanks!

Seems if you have x2 8800GTS in SLI, overclocking them at the moment would be overkill. I'd just go with the basic loop (CPU block, Reservoir, Radiator, Pump) and if you start lagging behind a little later with the GPU, throw in the $200 in a couple of years when you need it.

is it the G92 8800GTS's (512Mb)? or the G80 ones (640/320Mb)?

if its the G92 core one, i think you can get a fair bit with overclocking on the stock cooler :) having an intake fan in the side of the case next to the grafics card already helps a lot.

and I agree, the performance increase you would get from overclocking the grafic's cards on water cooling (over air) wouldn't be worth the money of the blocks.
