water cooling: question for people who don't use a resrvoir

was thinking of canning my resevoir since I can't seem to get one that won't leak. was thinking of just using extra tubing on a tee line. question is how much tubing length will I need to act as a resevoir?


here is the resevoir I am having trouble with. it seems that the casting lines run perpendicular to the threads. so any stress on the threads cause the casting halves to split and start a small leak. I'm tired of cleaning it up and trying to repair it. BTW, this is my second res like this that has leaked.

I know there are some clear acrylic resevoirs out there but was thinking about the tubing idea first. I may try a clear acrtlic resevoir if needed.
 
Using T-line is another option besides reservoir, T-line should be positioned before the pump and should be the highest point of the loop(top of case are common)the only disadvantage of T-line is bleeding time w/c is slower than using reservoir.
The reservoir u have is a good one, maybe your just putting too much stress on the barb w/c causes for it to leak, try using elbow for tight bend to minimize this.
As for acrylic reservoir, another good choice:)
 
there is a mold line in the middle of the threads. some reviews on DangerDen's site indicate I'm not the only one with a small leaking problem

arond your tubes? if you didnt do that,.. put those on, and you'll get rid if the leaking. (at least, i asum, the connection between reservoir and tub is leaking) ;)

ant the best thing is,.. you can get these tube-wrappers :P almost evrywhere

T-line and reservoir are two different things. If your gonna use T-line, you wont need the reservoir, vice versa. Just make sure it will be at the highest point of the loop(top of the case):)
 
archangel, not really. my res is pretty much two halves put together in an injection mold. the seam happens to be in the threads. so the seam is coming apart at the threads and causing a minor, yet annoying leak.

joelkyr, sorry for using both terms. but you got what I was trying to say. use the T line for extra fluid.
