Water cooling

Just ordered some stuff :D

D tek fusion
Swiftech MCP655
MCR microres
5 feet or 7/6" masterkleer tubing
Distilled water
Barbs and wormdrives
UV reactive coils :cool:

Waiting for overclockers to get some Swiftech 320QP radiators in stock and ill be ready to go.

Ill post some pics up and some rsults when i have them, which should be just shortly after Christmas, depending on when overclockers pull their finger out.

Bit of a pointless post, im just super excited :P
 
It will total around £160 £170 for everything once ive got the rad.
But i advise you not to buy a kit, and dont use overclockers for water cooling as they are overpriced a bit and dont have much choice, but they do have good radiators.

I bought my block and accesories from chilled pcs and the pump + resevoir from tekheads because they are very cheap.
 
Cool sounds good mate, Ive used water cooling for almost two years now. Good stuff XD

o rite sweet, any tips on setting it up

Common sense really and patience. Measure all the pipes twice before you cut them, cut the pipes as straight as possible. Then when installing make sure there are no kinks in the piping & everything is done up firmly but don't over tighten.

Then first time setup don't boot the PC up, make sure the liquid runs though everything ok then leave it on for a while. Turn off and then leave it some more so that there are no bubbles in the pipes & blocks.

Jobs a gooden, if you don't have some sort of visible flow indicator on your PC then I suggest for atleast the first few times when turning on your PC is to check that the motor/pump is working and the liquid is circulating. (Trust me Ive had a pump go & I didnt realize till the PC crashed, checked the temps and the CPU was at 120c X/ ). But the CPU was fine thankfully.

Anyways get some pics up when ya done.
 
Thanks for the info, my package from tekheads just came, i have the pump n res now, man they are huge from what i imagined them to be :D
 
ghost you forgot a major step

the 24 hour leak test
1. Install the water cooling
2. Deinstall the watercooling without removing the tubing
3. put down paper towel
4. leak test for 24 hour
5. fix any leaks
6. Reinstall

Pfff sod that mate, I just make sure I use good quality hosing and connectors then double check everything... Done two PCs with watercooling, one with Zalman that was CPU, Chipset and 2x ATi cards in crossfire. Then the 2nd was mine, Alpha watercooling that was with CPU & chipset. Both have been fine (touch wood).

But seriously yeah Beast is completely correct, I didnt do that but its always best to do it.
 
The bulk of my stuff is here, so i decided to run a little loop for fun and test for leaks.

Now just waiting for my rad to get into stock and for my package from over-clock that contains some barbs, a plug and a nozzle kit and i will be good to go :D
 
Yeh im gonna get some hot water and run it through the loop and out into a sink a couple times, then put the res under a tap and let it run a few more times before i put it together in my case :D

You'll probably get to push your Opteron a little higher if you have been having some heat problems. Good Luck!

Although id like to believe this, my bottleneck is my motherboards FSB wall, but a cooler chip is a bonus anyway :P
