Water in monitor?

My cat dumped over my fish tank...which was right above my monitor. I was away when this happened, my husband revived the fish (which is doing fine) but didn't use the computer--so he didn't notice. I now have a blotch that streaks from the top of the montor in a greenish color all the way down to the bottom which has a blue/black color that blocks out everything for about 2 inches on the bottom of my screen. I just bought this montior about 3 months ago, it was a $400 LG flat screen.

Is there any hope for my screen??? Do you think it would be covered under the warranty (my thought is probably not...but I hope...) or is it possible that time will dry it out and everything will end up fine in the end??? Please advise, I'm really quite upset about it.

why the hell would you put a fish tank above a monitor. its probably permanelty ruined and probably wont be covered by warranty

I'd check your warrenty first. If it's not covered, I'd carefully open it and see if there's any water left in there that could be causing a problem. I'm afraid it might be ruined, but you really have nothing to loose, right? At least crack it open and see if water could possibly still be shorting something out...
