The other day i spilled about half a glass of water on my laptop, there was no weird noises or smells and the computer stayd on, i dryed the water off the keys and tilted it so the rest could drain from it. i then turned it off and let it to dry for 3 days. now the computer turns on perfectly fine but most keys (w, ctrl, alt, delete, left arrow, and others) don't work. I cant get it to start because it won't recognize the cntr key. I use a fujitsu siemens celsius with windows xp.

is there anything i can do? anyone had the same problem?

Is there a way to use a usb keyboard even though i can't load it? will the comp recognize it?

i wanted to remoce the keys but i noticed that on this laptop they can't be removed. what can i do? please i need your help to get it to start up again.

Thanks.

you should turn it off right away when it got when but you left it on? it should be off asap and then let dry before trying to boot it.

d-oh! that was not extremely bright...as was already pointed out, you should power off immediately and then remove the battery! my guess is there is still water in some of the keys. some laptops have keyboards which allow the keys to be popped off individually. try that, and i would also advise taking the whole keyboard out and inspect for more water and rust. rust = enemy to computer :( if you find water, use a blow dryer to clear it out.

btw, i think the only reason your computer works at all is because most keyboards are undercoated with plastic, thus waterproofing it.

I've been through enough keyboards to know if some of the keys aren't working, it really doesn't matter what you take apart and dry out, it's fried.
