It depends.

Liquid cooling is used to really cool certain components down. If you have a brilliant air-flowing case, Liquid cooling wouldn't be overly beneficial unless you experience high temperatures and you don't overclock your components.

A stock/aftermarket fan can be very powerful too though, so really, "it depends" .
 
Who needs liquid cooling.

Just use Li Lian specially deigned fans which are designed to let the air escape anyway.
 
The best fans, I have read and researched into, are Zalman heatsyncs etc. I have one on my computer which I recently put on there (and it's some weird new design) that spins at half the RPM of my previous fan and also cuts the tempurature of the processor down by almost 40% to that of the other one.

It depends on your situation / comp spec / room temp / stress you put the hardware under and for how long etc. But in most cases, a really decent overclocking fan would do. Also for cases, if you arrange the fans in a correct order around your case (i.e. some blowing in and some blowing out, 2 at the front blowing in 2 at the back blowing out) this would create a great air flow within your computer keeping it cool enough.
 
liquid cooling is good when air flow is restricted, so if you have a full case, then this is the go.
 
That's a highly vague question, like asking someone... err, a vague question (cant think of any examples).

EDIT: Like asking someone who's gonna win the Le Man's 24 hour.
 
yes, it is vague, but in terms of uber-ness, i voted water cooling, i had it once before, only got rid of it because the pump broke. In terms of cooling capacity, my current HSF works a lot better than the wtercooling did.

So really, at this current point in time, Fans are better.

Liquid Cooling is obviously better, but the question should be "What do you guys think is the best to have?"

Since LC does cool components better, it's much more of a hassle, and more expensive.

Your wording is a bit wrong here geoff, watercooling as an object does not cool componenets beeter, at the moment my fan setup is cooling better than my wc did. What would be more accurate to say would be that the specific heat capacity of water is a lot higher than that of air, thus rendering water a better cooling compound than air in most/all situations. The cooling capacity of "Water Cooling" varies wildly on how and with what components it is set up, the performance of "Water Cooling" is variable, the SHC of water however is set.

I didnt do A-Level Physics for no reason ya know.... lol

If you get a decent water cooling setup that has adaquate cooling in the radiator, theres no reason why it would give higher temps then air would. Unless maybe you have the same loop going through the CPU, GPU, Chipset before proper cooling:P

well, ok, mine was passive WC, it was the Tt Rocket Fanless System... kinda sucked, dont ever get it, you'll rtegret it. Worst £110 i ever spent. But my post still stands

Water is a much better heat remover than air. And since yours was passive it would naturally be worse then an active fan.
