im getting probaly about 50 per day and have no idea why, its my personal business account and i dont see what i could have went on or signed up for to be getting these.

irts business only and i know i havent signed up for anything. my gmail and hotmail accounts dont get anything but this one does.

any reasonf for it and how can i stop it!

When you say your personal business account, do you mean it's an account with a provider such as GMail or Hotmail but only used for business E-Mails? Or do you actually own your own domain and use a business E-Mail address with your own web server?

Either way surely you can set some sort of ignore or organise filter up for particular address types? I.e. block any E-Mails from the address "@xxx.com".

yeah its a personal domain that i own. i should have been more clear. also with regards to the filter where would i find one of these? would it be with the Domain and hosting company?

thanks :)

Well within your CPanel, depending on the webhost (or if you have a parked domain, the registrar) might have an option where you can customise some sort of filter within the webmail management section, however if the feature / option isn't there for you to customise it manually you might have to ask your webhost / registrar to find out what sort of spam avoiding advice / features they could put in place for you.

I'll have a flick through my webserver CPanel later when I can get a hold of my login information and see what features I'm offered (so you know what to look / ask for).

Brilliant, thanks Rove!!! :)

im going to have a look now also! i have a domain and i dont even have a site built yet :)

Cheers :)

Sorry about not replying to this after I said I would. I completely forgot about it and have been rather preoccupied as of late. I just logged into my web server panel and under 'Mail Manager' there is a feature called 'Email Filtering'. It allows me to create various different types of filtering for my web mail. Ask your host about something called 'SpamAssassin'. And if it is available. Also just browse around all of your web mail areas to your cpanel (I assume you have cPanel?) to find anything in relation to filters. What panel type do you use / have? And we'll go from there.

I think you are lucky there that you are only getting 50 a day. I'm currently getting around 500 - 800 per day now and it still increasing. About 99.9% of them goes directly into my spam filter box.
