WD Caviar or Hitachi Deskstar?

Hello, I'm thinking of picking up one of these 160 GB drives:

Which one is better or more reliable?

their specs are identical. i would go with western digital because its a more proven name.

I had the Hitachi and it only lasted like a year before it started clicking

I don't know if you can call WD more reliable, both companies will have customers who had an awful experience with one of their drives. My friend has 2 Hitachi DeskStars @ 160GB and he's had them for ~2years, they haven't had a problem. Hitachi does all the construction for what used to be an IBM brand (DeskStar, TravelStar)

Both are pretty much identical, so go for the cheapest, or if they're the same price then play eeny meeny miny mo.

The thing is that both can be had for $40 after rebate... so I guess...
