WD Elements

My friends is having a problem with her WD Elements, it only shows 18.6GB in disk managment. It is a 500GB drive. It is bus powered, so only one cable is required. I formatted it, assigned a letter and it is only 18GB in size :/

When you look at the drive in disk management do you see some unallocated space?

Yea, it's only 18GBs though :/ I think the drive is physically broken :/

Where did she get the Drive? What version of Windows? What does BIOS read the Drive as GB-wise?

Windows 7, PC World, the drive was brand new.

I'll try the BIOS later.
