WD External Hard drive for Windows & Mac help

I have a macbook as well as a lenovo running windows 7

I just formated my external drive using windows 7 I split the drive NTFS /FAT Since I read that the mac can not write to the drive if its in ntfs.

so now the windows computer works fine with the external but when i plug it into my mac it only sees the NTFS portion?

my windows laptop can see both

Try formatting one hard drive partition in FAT32 with your Macintosh Operating System.
