WD Harddrive problem

I had to reformat and then reinstall windows. I am installing windows 98 then i will upgrade to XP, but while i was installing windows, when it asks to reboot and i did. well the computer booted up and i says "non-system disk instered, remove and press any key to cont'" (or something alone those lines....... Well Inserted my Windows 98 setup disk and tryed to access my C: drive it asks to Abort, Retry, Fail? I went into the bios setup and it has detected my hard drive. So i used the Datalife guard that i downloaded from wdc.com (on my other computer of course) I reset the drive to zero. Then resarted and it says non-vaild fat32 drive ... so i used fdisk and i partitioned the drive and then when i restart and format it says bad command!!

I don't know whats up? Please help!!

Its a Western Digital Harddrive

probably your drive is int NTFS format still you'll need to format it to fat32 before installing win 98.
