WD My Passport ext. drive is locked

I picked up an external drive (WD My Passport, 500 gb) in a yard sale for $5. Good deal, right?

But when I plugged it in to my computer, it said the disk is locked and the WD Unlocker popped up and asked for password.

I don't have the password. I don't care about the data in this drive.

Is there a way to format it and use it as fresh? I went into Disk Management and it said the drive needs to be initialized. When I tried, it said "Access is denied".

Appreciate the help.

you can format it using linux i think password remove on it bcz wd security work only in windows or mac os

use ubuntu or linux mint live usb or dvd then try to format it
I am stuck!

I tried to download the ubunto UUI to my USB. In the download popup, the 2nd item is selecting desktop ISO dropdown.

What am I suppose to select (which file/directory)?

Download the ISO and then use YUMI to install it onto the flashdrive.

I following the link. Inserted a 2GB USB in the Windows 10 machine. Downloaded the file and run it.
I got stuck here. What should I do in Step 3?

Be sure you select the correct usb drive, then browse to the ISO file and click Create.

These is only one USB which was showed on #1.
What exactly I am looking for in #3? Is there some ISO file on my computer, or in their site?
Did you download the ISO for ubuntu? Because unless you did that you can't do anything.

Thanks for the link.
I downloaded the ISO file and created a boot USB and booted from it. It looks good.
I went into the file option and saw the WD drive on the list. I clicked on it and was able to see 5 files in the disk (Extra, WDSmartware, Autorun.inf, Unlock.exe and WDQuickformat.exe). I right clicked and selected format. Right after it started, it returned an error about not about to initialize (some track or section not zero, something like that). I tried deleted or moving the five files to a folder but there is no option to delete it or creating a new folder.

Any suggestion on how to wipe this drive clean and format it?
