WD SATA drivers, xp sp2, no floppy

Ok, so I got windows to install and boot up the first time, but now it is having an error, searching told me that i need drivers for the SATA drive, and xp may not have them. I dont have a floppy drive, so that wont work.
I have heard of slipstreaming the drivers into the install xp disk, but i have no idea what that is or how to do.

My system will work once i have done this, I know it will! it has only been three months so far... *sigh*
 
I had the same problem when I tried to install my OS. I heard from someone that the SATA technology with the ASUS AMD motherboards were a pain. I had to go on another computer and make a floppy with the CD rom provided with the motherboard. You just open the CD and there should be an icon that says "make a disk". Make sure you have an empty disk in the diskette drive. Afterwards, take that diskette and put it in the computer where you're trying to install you OS. If you don't have a floppy drive, I don't know what you can do, but these days, theyre pretty cheap. I got like a compact flash, sd, and floppy drive (or some 7 in 1 drive) for like $30 CDN, and that was a couple of months ago. I hope this helps!
 
Longhorn, sorry ahem "Windows Vista" will have the drivers built in for SATA. Which is about time too. I don't think there is any better way to get around it without buying a floppy drive, like leed24 suggests. It would be far too much effort to build the drivers into the windows setup disk, which is what I think you were talking about.
