Web Address Bar Full Of ++++++'s

when i open up my browser and click on my web address bar the entire bar automatically fills up with +++++ signs, the same thing happens in the search bar on the yahoo web page,

it is not the keyboard, i have changed that with a known good one,

this happens if i use mozilla or internet explorer, the same result

i have done spyware and virus scans, and everything is fine,

i even started the computer in "safe mode" and the same thing happens when running in safe mode,

i am running windows xp, it is an HP desktop,

i am thinking about using the "system restore" feature but im worried about all of my documents and pictures....will this feature delete any of my saved content such as pictures or documents?

Click on start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore.

This will not delete your installed programs or personal data. This only restores system files to where they were for the date you pick. Do not do a system recovery from boot screen as this will format your system and you will be back to the beginning when you first got it.

thank you, i will try it

does this happen in any text box? if so, than the keyboard might be broken. Also, try deleting all your data and cookies. could it be autofill ?

i went into the system recovery menu....it says it will delete all installed programs and applications that i have loaded, but it will NOT delete data files or documents that i have created....would that include pictures also?
