Web browsing extremely slow

Hi, I'm running the latest version of firefox and it's extremely slow at loading webpages. For example it took this page over two minutes to load. Downloading files and downloading torrents are fine. I've tried internet explorer and it's the same problem. I have a broadband connection. Any help appreciated, thanks.
 
spyware? have you deleted ur cache and temporary internet files, and history? those play a pretty big rule.

Hi, I've checked thoroughly for any spyware etc and have followed your suggestions with no difference. If I click on a link of a file then it may take a minute or so to connect but one it starts downloading it goes at full speed.
 
It may just be the server that site / or file is on. Sometimes that can cause it to be slow, despite your internet connection. Even if you have a T3, and that certain file is on a SLOW server, good chance your download is going to be slow, till it hits the peak speed of the server, which will help your download speed after a while.
