Web cam as a spy cam ????

Hi,

1. is it possible that webcam still working even if computer is shut down ??

2. is it possible that webcam start working as soon as I get into my operating system without giving any command or clicking any button or using any method for webcam.

3. I am currently using ISPY software which is very good but the only problem with that software is you have to keep your computer on..

Any help will be appreciatable

Not if its off. When the computer is on it could be. A hack and has happened. Im not worried much but i do turn the camera to the wall. feel better.
On the other hand i have a laptop and i cover the lens with a small piece of tape or fold a piece of paper over the lens.

ive read before about people else where where hackers have turned it on and observe every movement. then i don't go no where to put myself in that position. i don't think.....

i have a sony. what ever your running then likely copy or create short cut and drop in the startup directory. its at start, all programs then startup directory. get the exe file in there.
