i want to design a website for my business and i need to make it asap. and i know nothing about putting websites together. my girlfriend will be designing it. but i need to put it together. what software and money is not an issue.

and what i mean by her designing it. she will have done all of the work for it like pictures and all that. and they will be psd's or whatever format is needed. thanks. if you have any questions just ask.

you tried Macromedia Dreamweaver... thats one, or Microsoft Frontpage.

they are both very good with designing a website, no knowledge of HTML coding is nessesary.

Frontpage isn't bad, but I really wouldn't recommend it. Dreamweaver is very good, and seems to be the most recommended program from a web design forum that I am also a member of.

Dreamweaver is what our school uses to teach there webdesign... i found it very easy to learn and use... but you may have to spend some time messing with things to get the more advanced features to work perfectly... but it should be easy if you have even the slightest clue about computers...

Thanks. i had a little look at dreamweaver a while ago and remembered that i thought it looked difficult to use. would you recommend any books or anything like that or just a forum? and also what language would best suite me and how would i know?

if you just use the designer mode in Dreamweaver, it is very simple and you dont need to know a coding language. you could look on amazon or somewhere for a Dreamweave Guide and/or a coding guide to help, i dont know of any specific books though.

Try Godaddy.com. They have everything you need, including web building tools, Domain name, server space etc. I have not used the site builder, but everything else was simple and hassle free and resonably priced.

6071842, I do professional website design. I'm doing a website design for my band at http://sleeperstone.com, my company website's being remade so its underconstruction under the same domain at http://sleeperstone.com/nigraphics/index.html
Another website I have done is a fansite for the band Cold, that website can be found at http://coldstage.com

If you are interested, I can make you a website, have it up and running in 1-2 weeks, very professional and cheap, and you don't have to pay until its completed.

Let me know if your interested.

I use dreamweaver, although as i mostly dophp it is a bit of a waste, but nvu (www.nvu.com) is pretty good, i used it once and it is based on the gecko engine, so the preview window is the same output as firefox, and many other browsers. So if you want soemthing cheap i would reccomend that, alternatively you could use the 30 day trial of dreamweaver
