for a web server

I like the Linux side but I was reading a recent security article that said IIS hasn't had any critical exploits for 3 years. The biggest drawback to me has been getting PHP, PERL and whatever else I wanted to work installed on winXX. And then when you need another package that doesnt have a win32 binary then your kind out of luck. If your willing to work at it I would say use some kind of **ix setup. If you don't know linux, but have thought about it, I would say go with freeBSD/OpenBSD instead, or Solaris. They seem to be more secure.

i think Fedora 5, i already d/l it and it had a bunch of "web" feachers. i have registered my copy of XP pro. could i use windows 2000 pro?
