If I have a text file on my desktop, and want to upload it on to my website, what would I do?


I have to upload a file of rules for the LAN and I want it to appear like 'LAN Rules' and when they click it, it opens in document.

are you the one editing that webpage in the first place ?
You can open the page where the files will be (let's say 'download.html')
edit it with dreamweaver or frontpage.

in frontpage : after you have put the heading LAN RULES (somewhere) right-click on it and go to hyperlink. when the dialog box open search for the text file and click ok.
