Websites like youtube.com google.com and computerforum.com load instantly with no delay but websites like Yahoo.com or Facebook.com all of a sudden either don't load or takes a long time to load. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? It has been like this for a 2 days now.

If I open a browser and go to yahoo.com it will work if i type it in right away but if i try to search it wont work.

Do you have a broadband connection?
If so, go to command prompt and type :
ipconfig /release

Press enter and then type :

ipconfig /renew

and press enter again.

Try accessing the websites now.

i didn't want to deal with it anymore so i did a system restore and reinstalled everything i installed the past few days.

and now its working fine.. thanks

it does the same to me as in takes a while to load but that is only cause my network is busy.

okay... system restored yesterday and it was fine... but it is doing the same again right now. i can get the homepages to load instantly within 1 sec but if i leave the browser open for awhile it wont load as quick anymore for certain websites.

i used lavasoft and comodo to scan thru the whole computer like 2-3 times and there are no problems.
this is the first time this ever happened to me.

I use IE 6 and I was using firefox 2.0.0.12 then i updated it to 2.0.0.14 and i still had the problem so i downloaded firefox 3 and i still had the same problem so i decided to come on here to ask for help.

What is that going to accomplish?

Obviously its going to tell us something, no? He said he did a restore and it helped for a while but then acted up again. Therefor he is either infected, or is downloading stuff (auto updates), or has slow internet.

I just formatted the whole thing cuz i couldn't take it anymore. If it happens again I'll update thanks.

Ouch. I had the same problem in the morning and I too did a System Restore. But I was doing something with proxies so...not anything weird.

The computer was newly built for only 2-3 days.. and had that problem. After formatting and reinstalling the same software I had before everything seems to be fine... odd... virus scanners scanned nothing... adware/spyware got nothing. i always turn off auto updates because they're annoying. i did do a speedtest it was like approx. 3700 down and like 700 up.

thanks
