Is it possible to get your computer hacked when you go on a website??

Lets say I was going into a website and since I went on it, therefore someone is able to ack into my computer??

Basically can you get hacked through a website?
 
Hello,

Yes, you can run through some warez or porn sites and get malware or trojans infected on your computer. Use protection, AVG + spyware suite, try avira anti virus free edition and malwarebytes. Both are free. Be cautious, don't navigate to any sites you are not aware off. If your computer starts acting funny, you know why. Run scans on a regular.
 
Well I was wondering, my computer is running normal like it always does, I was just wondering if they are able to hack the computer and therefore go to my network and infect other computers that are connected to my network?
