What software do you have? And a simple Google search will lead you to many different guides/walkthroughs. What type of site?

Microsoft FrontPage is a very good program, and so is Adobe GoLive.

dont want to sound stupid but what are they? i know what adobe is? are they templates? i know nothing about websites at all, so i will be dumb :P thanks

If you want your own e-mail adress you will first haev to reigster your own domain. www.godaddy.com is one of the cheapest and IMO the best place i have tried to get them. only 9$ a year, and you can have your website on it. It comes with free starter hosting.

cool man do you know of any UK based ones? do i have to use a uk domain?

Well, if you haven't created anything before or previously..

I would say to just use Frontpage right now. Then, in the future when you are more experienced.. go for Macromedia or GoLive.

Frontpage is basically WYSIWYG type of program so you can never really get your page wrong as long as formatting it because what you see is what you get. Plus, its user friendly. If you are familiar with Word, its pretty much the same.

Thats cool, is it possible to make an impressive front page with frontpage. what i would like to do is get a frontpage up with my logo and then just my email address so people can click it and send me mail, so it'll basically say that the site is under construction.

Yup. With frontpage its very simple.

Create your logo, put it in Frontpage as a picture. Center it or whatever you like. Then, at the bottom or whatever... just create a hyperlink with your e-mail and your done.

They are both WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors, which basically allow you to tell the program what you want your site to look like, and it will fill in all the code for you. FrontPage costs money, but you can get a free 30-Day trial of Adobe GoLive.

A big thanks
