weird error

hi,

i turned my computer on this morning and the screen would not show up, it just stayed on the orange light.
after about 10 seconds the computer just re-started, it wont open up anything just stays on a black screen.

anyone know what the problem is?

nope, just turned it on this morning.
what you think it could be? i use the computer a lot.

it could be alot of things, do you get like any type of screen that shows the manfacturer of your pc?

nothing comes up, doesnt even get to bios check or anything just an orange light on the computer.

1) How old is your system? and your screen?

2) Are you using onbord graphics or a Card?

Look at the connection at the back or you computer and just make sure that the screen is connected properly.

Do the fans spin?

do you hear any beeps ?
try unplugging the IDE cable of your HDD and plug it in again
i know it sounds unreasonable but it worked with me someday

ya, thats about the only thing you can do, try reseating the ram.

Acts like the monitor is not connected. Check connection to video port. Could be a bad cable or video board if you have a card. Try changing video board with one you know is good.

if the computer boots up and is still running for a while, then it could be a bad monitor, loose plug, graphics card. if the comp. is not running at all, then it is definitely something with your hardware, and it will be hard to figure out which piece of hardware it is based off the problems you described. try to explain more to us... how old is the comp/monitor, is the power supply dead, stuff like that.
