weird HD issue.

Last week I restarted my computer and it gets to the set up screen and says "verifying DMI pool data” and will not boot up. I unhook one of my hard drives, the master, and then the computer will boot up with the old HD. The newer HD has XP pro on it and was recognized in another computer with all its files still on it. But whenever it is hooked up my main computer it will not boot up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks much.

Well, i had a similar problem, i had a 200gb sata (whic the os was installed on), and another 80gb sata (just for files and backup). When i tried to start the computer with them both in there, it wouldnt boot up. I took out the 80gb and it worked fine.

So did this just start hapening or did it happen once you put the new hd in?

It just happened out of the blue. I had not added any hardware or anything for a while. It was working fine. I friend told me that error message is hardware related. He said try taking out different pieces and see what happens. When I got to the big HD, and unplugged it the computer booted up from the old HD. I then put the XP HD in my daughter’s computer and it booted up fine and the computer recognized it, and all the files were still there. I am guessing the HD is fine.
