Weird issue when installing graphics card.

Hi there hope you can help my friend on this!

Ok so my friend built computer a while ago without GPU and now some time ago he bought nvidia gtx 770 2gb version. But when we were installing it the drivers would not install (http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y388/brandpower/Nvidia_Install_Failed_zps5d208baa.jpg I don't remember if it was like this but it would skip the install and say something like in the picture.).

We tried many different things and nothing worked, so we tried the card on my computer, same thing. So of course we thought it was a dead card and he sent it back, they didn't have the same card so my friend got the 4gb version of it :P but then again, same damn thing on the install. We haven't tried it on my computer but we thought we could try one of my old gpu on his computer but could it be his mobo destroying the cards, or have he really got 2 DOA cards? I'm little worried it would ruin my card so I really would not like to try it.

Oh and I dont remember all of his specs but here's something:
i5 3570k
8gb kingston hyperx
some gigabyte z77 mobo
600w psu (i have 750w)

Any ideas? thanks in advance!

Please confirm the exact model of the PSU.

Please confirm you have plugged in the necessary PCIe power cables into the graphics card.

Please confirm that you have set PCIe as the default gpu in the bios.

With the old card installed, please uninstall ALL graphics drivers (from ATi and NVidia) and use DriverSweeper to clean up. Shutdown, install the new card and then start the machine, install the newest driver. Restart.
