Hey, ok this is a strange problem, ill try to explain.

It only happens when im playing computer games (i think), I play day of defeat source and it happens pretty much every time i play that. I'll be playing one second, then instantly, the screen will go black, but the monitor light is still green as if it's still plugged in and responding. My hard drive doesn't make any noise when it does it, it's as if the game is still running, but the screen has gone off. The only way to get out of it is to reboot, nothing else i've tried works. I've been on the computer before (it's my other pc) for ages and it will not do it, then i'll load of dod:s and it'll do it after 5 minutes.

My specs are
Athlon 64 3400+
Ati Radeon 9800 pro 128mb
1gb ram
Abit KV8 Pro motherboard

Thanks for any help you can give

sorry man i forgot to add the link

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/ATI-Tray-Tools.shtml

that should work or that is what i do then once in it

right click its icon on bottom right and goto Hardware--System tray hardware monitoring--then click one of thos two to get GPU and other temp with diff colors

that sounds like what happens when your core clock is too high. I guess thats probably not it unless you've been overclocking. When my card was overheating because the fan wasnt working right it would just beep but it would never shut down even when it was at like 105C.

Hey, i've installed Ati Tray Tools, but when i go to Hardware > System Tray Hardware Monitoring, I can tick on any of the options under the heading 'Global Settings', but 'GPU Temperature' and 'Environment Temperature' are blocked, i can't click on the colours on the right hand side of those boxes either.

Thanks again

Also, my friend told me to download a program to test the temp of my processor, hard drive and he thought it might do gpu to, but it doesn't, but my processor temp was at 57 degreesC, and had a flame next to it meaning too hot. What should i do about this?
