Weird overclocking on a 2800+

Okay well I have an AMD barton core athlon 64 2800+ that I am trying to OC. I am using a Gigabyte K8ns motherboard, 1 GB value select ram. First of the interface to OC with is easytune 4 and it is the most confusing thing ever. Okay well, here is what is says with my stock CPU:

Then, I raised my system bus:

Wow, 2.2 GHZ just liek that? But, wait, something isn't right here. There seems to be no gain in temp, and heres the odd part, when I restart my comp, the ghz is back to 1.8. It almost seems like a fake overclocker. Why wont the speed stay when restarted, am I doing something wrong?

when you use that kinda software it always resets to default, you should go through bios like said.

Alright well I just did my first succesful OC but am stopping until I get my XP100 because I'm running at 40 celsius right now. I brought my stock 1847.2 mhz up to a 2025.1 by rasing the mhz from 200 to 225. It seems to be working great so far, and when I get my new heatsink, I'm aiming for 2.3 GHZ.

You can go up even further temp wise. A lot of people feel that 65C is the hottest you should go, however I feel comfortable at only 50-55C.

Yea definetly dont use Easy tune to OC just use it to watch your system stats. I did the same thing with my barton 2800 trying to OC to 2.2 then i learned easytune isnt the greatest. plus its so much cooler doing it in bios :D
