weird problem i cant solve :

hey all
ive got a weird problem with my computer
im wroking on the computer normaly (ive got ddr333 512MB kingston)
and suddenly the computer makes a weird sound (not from the speakers from the computer itself) like the sounds when it turns off,
and then it get stuck and restarts.
the system and cpu temp is ok...average.
then everytime when it load windows it will make the same sound and reset.
only when i completely close the power supply to the computer and puts out the memory card and bring it back in the windows will load..
i tried formatting and it still gives me the same problem.
tried also to set the bios on optimal setting and still the same.
it oftenly happening if im running the computer with a few progs together.
it never happend before and i havent changed my working habbits..

anyone knows what im talking about?

well my first guess would be that your hard drive is going bad, as the only sound that really changes when you shut down your computer (other than the fans turning off) would be your hard drive spinning down. If you have an extra hard drive laying around that you could pop in, i'd do that and see if the problem still occurs.

I doubt an hard drive would do that but it's possible... Trace the noise first. Unplug your HDD and see if the noise is still there...
