Weird problem?

Hi everyone!
Just a quick question really..
My computer slighty died two days ago.. It made a kinda popping noise then turned off, and it wouldnt turn back on. The computer runs but the moniter is just black..(or asleep as if you have the moniter on but the pc switched off) I thought it might be the psu as the fan seamed to be spinning really slowly so i think that was broken, replaced that and the pc still didnt work. Ive tried a mates graphics card and the screen just still stays black so i dont think its mine that broken, ive tried 2 moniters and different cables so its not either of them. Ive tried clearing the CMOS and replacing the mobo battery but still nothing. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Hopefully my friend is bringing round his computer so i can test my processor in that.. but could it be the motherboard? Any tips on think I could try to fix it?

Spec is:
Asus M2N32 WS PRO
AMD Phenom 9850 (2.5Ghz)
BFG 8800 GTX OC2
3GB (3 x 1GB)Corsair
OCZ Mod-x-stream pro 500w

Many thanks,
James :)

oh yer also, sometimes if a psu just dies on you whilst the computer is on, it CAN/MIGHT damage other component on your computer ie mobo, cpu, graphics card ! but you have changed all these havnt you ?

so maybee it might be your mobo, but im now expert mate :D

Yeah, after getting the new one I set it all up properly.. im pretty sure, ill just have a check now :)

The other graphics card i tried is a 7 series and doesnt need any power except the power from the mobo so im not sure it can be the psu?
