Weird Ram???

I just attempted to build a system that is running 64bit windows vista (AMD dual core 3.0Ghz processor, Gigabyte 4 ram slot motherboard that supports supposedly up to 16 gb ram) and I purchased 2 g.skill pairs of ddr2 800 (mb compatable) ram so that I have 4 sticks, 1 GB each.

The problem is, I can run any three of the four, but when all four are in the slots, the computer won't even post!

Help please...
 
Is it a particular stick? is it a particular slot? could be a bad stick i dont see why it wouldn't post. Try swaping some of them around and see if its a bad stick.

That'd be my plan too. Swap sticks around only using 1 at a time until one of them is bad, if they all work in the 1st, move RAM from slot to slot until you try them all and see if any of them don't work.
