Weird Video Card problem
I got a kind of weird video card problem. Mine is a GF6800GT AGP, it works fine until recently. I was playing games when suddenly the whole computer shut down. When I boot it up again, there was a serious graphic problem when I enter windows, I can only see colour lines on the screen and after a few seconds the screen gone black.
At first I try to play around with the driver, using old and new ones, but it doesn't help. Then I try to turn off some of the pixel pipelines, it lets me enter windows. But when I try to start any game using directx 8 or later, same problem occurs. Then I try to turn off some vertex shaders, it works fine if I only enable 1 group of pixel pipelines and 2 vertex shaders.
Strangely thou, it doesn't matter which one I enable, the only thing matter is how many I enabled
. For example, I try enabling pixel group one alone, it works; group four alone, everythings fine; one and four together? things gone bad. What is exactly happening to my video card? Things doesn't make sense to me.
