Weird Video Card problem

I got a kind of weird video card problem. Mine is a GF6800GT AGP, it works fine until recently. I was playing games when suddenly the whole computer shut down. When I boot it up again, there was a serious graphic problem when I enter windows, I can only see colour lines on the screen and after a few seconds the screen gone black.
At first I try to play around with the driver, using old and new ones, but it doesn't help. Then I try to turn off some of the pixel pipelines, it lets me enter windows. But when I try to start any game using directx 8 or later, same problem occurs. Then I try to turn off some vertex shaders, it works fine if I only enable 1 group of pixel pipelines and 2 vertex shaders.
Strangely thou, it doesn't matter which one I enable, the only thing matter is how many I enabled  . For example, I try enabling pixel group one alone, it works; group four alone, everythings fine; one and four together? things gone bad. What is exactly happening to my video card? Things doesn't make sense to me.

If it is not overheating it may have raised up in the slot itself or has a defective chip on it. That would be the possible for the video card. But you may have another problem if your sound card is in the first pci slot with resource sharing. The best thing here is to provide some system info to work with.

check the temp and make sure the fan is working try cleaning the fan and reseating the card if you have oc the card return to default settings
if the fan is at fault you can replace it try this its great
Vantec Iceberq 5 Premium VGA Cooling Kit

Well, it says the core is around 61C idle, something around 70-80 when running games and such, not sure if this is overheating or not. The spec of my system :

CPU :Athlon Fx-53
Mobo : Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939
RAM : 2 x 512mb Corsair XL (CL = 2.0)
HardDrive : 2 x 200GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 SATA (in RAID 0)
Sound : Creative Audigy 2 value
With a 450W PSU

And the fan is working.
