I got this 250 western digital external hard drive two christmas's ago and probably used it 10 times at the most (didn't work on my old computer). Now it has encountered a problem. Everytime I turn it on it shows on in my computer as Drive S but when I go into it there is nothing... And when I right click properties it says 0 out of 0 bytes have been used. When I get into 50 different menus on the volume tab for it says "Status: Unreadable and Capacity: 0 MB"... Uhh this is really lame especially because this is the SECOND hard drive to fail on me. But seriously I rarely touch this piece of equipment and when I go it doesn't want to work. Okay, cool? It claims to be working properly and that the drivers are good.
WD 2500JB External USB Device is what it is! If anyone can help that would be great. I am going to update the driver perhaps but ehh...
 
It should still be in warranty, phone up WD and ask them what they can do about it. I think their drives have a 10 year warranty on them.
