thanks! :P

First of all....these are mobile processors, for notebooks. What kind of notebook do you have? Are you looking to replace your processor or just wondering which one is better?

You have to be more detailed with your question.

I can't find any data on actual performance for each....I would be willing to bet the Intel will out perform the AMD just by a hair.

If you're looking at laptops, it's better to give us the laptop make/model and a link, so we know specs other than just the CPU, since the CPU is just one factor that affects the performance/quality of the lappy.

hey guys sorry for the lack of info. Here is the specs for the intel one. My next question is with those specs do i need 3gb ddr2 ? or will 2gb be ok for basic needs (is 3gb overkill?). Also say i get 2gb can i always decide to upgrade later and have like nerd squad upgrade it for me?

is this laptop good for a college student? Is it pretty fast?

IMO, yes, at least features-wise. If the size&battery life is good enough for you, then it's a good choice - there may be better deals out there, but I'm saying that it does whatever you want it to do.

With power saving settings turned all the way up, assuming that you won't be watching DVDs or gaming in middle of lectures or having a thousand peripherals plugged in, you should get 3 hours at least. Depends on how bright backlight you need, whether you need peripherals like portable HDDs or wireless, and so on. For "normal college stuff" the 6-cell battery should last for at least 3 hours, though.
