What advantages does a Digital interface Monitor have over Analog?

I never could seem to find a reason for one being better than the other. what is one good for and the other good for? the only different I can tell since I only have analog is that Digital ( or DVI) has a bigger connection on the end of the wire. Someone please tell me what the difference is!!!

Many people say DVI gives a sharper picture. I honestly can't tell much, if any difference. As long as you run at the LCD's native resolution, the picture's very sharp.

Also, with DVI, the image automatically adjusts according to the size and all... With VGA, the image may be off centered, hang off the screen, too small, etc etc...
