What Android 7" Tablet Should I Choose?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could help me out, as I wanted to pick up a 7 or 8" ish android tablet, the only problem being, I only want to spend about £50 max which according to xe.com is about $80. What do you think would be the best model for my money and why? I am willing to go second hand, instead of new if that would be the case, and would any of you be able to recommend any good sites I can check out?

What are you planning on doing with it? I think the only thing it would be able to do is internet and very low end apps (not even angry birds). The only brand that comes to mind that is decent quality and would go that cheap would be Archos but at that price you would be lucky to get android 2.2 froyo.

You could look at a prepaid phones by huawei. I bought a pre-paid from them a while ago for $120 brand new and it had a 600 Mhz cpu, 256 MB of memory and 2GB of storage and gingerbread 2.3.5

Thanks for the help guys! I've decided I think i'm gonna wait and save up some more money. Or maybe even ask for something much better for my birthday or christmas like the nexus 7. Thanks though :)
 
I don't really think you have the budget to be pretentious with your tablets..
My honest advice is this one: get whatever. You'll get bored pretty soon, and you don't need an uber expensive one for this thing. My brother got one for about 175 Euro, and yea, it's pretty cool, but id doesn't do anything a smartphone can't, and it's too big to be carried in pocket, si if you're still taking a backpack, why not pack the laptop..
 
I'll back up the Nexus 7 recommendations. I love mine. You can't find a good tablet for $80.

I think the original Kindle Fire can be had for ~$150 new.
 
It's true that the original Kindle Fire is being sold for $150 by some retailers (Staples for instance) but the new and improved Kindle Fire (not the Kindle Fire HD) is only $159 so it doesn't make sense to buy the original to save $9.
 
Really don't see the appeal in the Kindle Fire though, I'd rather pay $40 more for unrestricted access to things and the standard Android UI than deal with that crap.

At least the old Kindle Fire was easily rootable, so you could install an original Android operating system instead of the Amazon crap. Hopefully the new one is as well.

Many non-technically inclined people like the Kindle Fire for it's ease of use and are perfectly content with it the way it is. They don't want/need the full Android OS.

I had the original KF (received as a gift). It was quite usable but I ended up moving from it to a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and then to a Nexus 7.
