You should buy the OrangeBox set all of those games will keep you company for a looong time, especially tf2 and half life.

But yet it's not as bad as you've just made it sound.

I didn't make it sound bad, I was just saying that the game has a lot of hackers since it's free and all. It's something to keep an eye out for. I played that game for awhile and just grew tired of having to worry about hacks and exploits all the time. It's still a good game, very enjoyable...almost an arcade style FPS.

Actually they upgraded their hacking preventing thingy so only about 5% or less of the time you'll run into hacker. You should check it out.

Orange Box yes have that. My first experience with Steam. I'm liking Steam more now but still get annoyed that it needs to update seemingly every week.

Yeah, I think that's what happened because when I tried it a few months back it seemed to be filled with hackers, but I haven't had those issues now.

Define fast internet connection. I have ATT DSL - mid range speed option.

You should be good to go if you've got 2mbps. I'm thinking it would work fine with 1mbps-2mbps, but you would have to check with someone who's had more experience with l4d to make sure. I just no that my 1mbps wifi connection that's shared with 8 computers doesn't work very well with l4d. Go here to check your connection speed and then post back with the results you get. My guess is that it'll work fine for you though.

I'd be weary of Delta Force: Extreme, Gamespot (only review I've read) said it was actually pretty bad.

Also, Combat Arms has a TON of hackers, as well as Counter Strike: Source, so keep an eye out for that. However not everyone hacks, so the games are still enjoyable.

Also you might throw in Plants vs. Zombies. It's a quick tower defense game for only 20 bucks, that provides HOURS of play. It's worth a look, I've been playing it for the past few weeks and it's fun to load up and play a level or two.
Yeah Delta Force Extreme sucks same for the new one that came out (Delta Force: Extreme 2).
I wouldn't waste my money on it : P
I'd wait for Delta Force: Angel Falls which looks very promising :D
