What backup options are there?

Hi, can anyone please tell me what options there are for backing up important stuff on my pc? I have Windows XP, is it possible there is already some sort of backup utility on my pc? If not, what type of programs are available, and what are the rough costs? Ideally I would like to just be able to back up my documents, photos etc. every month or so, and I don't have a zip drive or anything - would prefer to do it to a CD or however many it would take - if this is possible.

Well CD is a no go really as not much storage. I suggest the cheapest option is another internal or external harddrive and every now and again just copy all your files which are important onto it. For example if you have like a 160gb hard disck then gte like a 80gb one as most storage is used by games etc and sure you have disc of them anyway. SO yes, buy another hard disc which will only cost like £50.
