I think that the HP laptops have the most to offer for their prices, and they look good too. I personally like the Pavilion zv6000 series. It offers the Athlon 64 up to 4000, up to 2gb of ram, 128mb dedicated Video Memory, and a perfectly sized 15.4 inch widescreen brightview LCD.

1. For laptops IBM is the best for productivity, they have 'The best' tech.

2. For Multi-media SOny is the BEst option. bEst looks n best performace.

3. HP is the cheap alternative.

4. DELL for poor like me. Hopeless quality

Well he has 2 of them and both have worked good for him. I personally voted dell, because they are the only one i have tested really, besides instore which doesn't mean much.
Also my I9300 delivers un-touchable preformance for the price.
