What can adding a router to my "network" do for me?

Well your modem must also be a wireless router as well or you would only be able to hook up one device unless you were using internet connection sharing. A router directs the traffic better thab using ICS. When using ICS the main pc has to be on and working iin order for the other devices to get internet. When using a router, you don't have to have a dedicated PC on all the time.

Hopefully you understood what I said. If not let me know.

Would adding a router make it so that each device wouldn't have to share bandwidth?

Like when I'm playing online with my 360, and my brother is on the internet, The PC gets more than half of the bandwidth. I get around 25-50 KB/s down and 115ms ping

So you are using internet connection sharing? Or is the modem an actual wireless router as well? What modem do you have? Explain how your network is setup.

I Just have a Motorola Modem from Qwest. It says 3347 on the front so I Will assume that is the model number. Here are a couple pictures, just In case you want to see. Everything is just wired to the back of the modem. Which is how qwest did it...

Basically what you have is a wireless gateway/modem. Basically a modem with a built in router. So getting another router will just complicate things. You have 4 ports in the back to hook up a total of 4 wired pc's/devices and wireless to any wireless device. I personally don't like these types of units, I've always preferred a stand alone modem and stand alone router.

With the modem I have, Could I set device priority?
I.E. when my xbox 360 is on, Let my xbox get more Bandwidth than the PC?

You'll have to check the options of your gateway. You'll need to find if it has QOS technology. If not, then you won't be able to.

Access your gateways configuration page by typing in its local ip address into your broswer. Try 192.168.1.1

You may have to contact motorola.

Oh, mine is 192.168.0.1, I knew that :P

Under "LAN Device List"

I found that the IP of my console is 192.168.0.78, and the MAC address is 00-22-48-93-7e-0b.
Here are some more pictures you may want to see.

Looks like you have a QOS section there. I've never messed with QOS before so not sure what you have to do.

Sorry but I can't. Like I said, i've never dealt with it before. You may have to contact your provider or motorola for support.
