What can i disable??

Hey Guys,

I have my laptop *cough* school laptop *cough* and it is slow on start up because i have installed some stuff on it, and it has some under needed program on it, and i have uninstalled most of them. I have disabled most things upon start up, but i want to know if there is anything i should still disable.

i hope this in the right area, because it is nothing in security really.

i want messenger :) and yeah, just some of the exe files i don't know of, and don't know if i should disable them or now.

Yeah, but you're complaining about a slow startup, you don't need it on startup, just start it manually when you wanna chat. I dunno about the rest of it, you might need those, some of your services could probably go, tho..

yeah, i want it on start up because i'm always online :)....

I'll have a look at some of the services and get back to you.

Live messenger takes a lot of resources to start at startup, you can always create a quick launch icon and start manually everytime...

Also i have disabled messenger on start up, and i have C:\Windows\system32\ctfmon.exe ticked as well.... can i disable that...... i found this in google and from reading that, i don't think it is needed..... :cool:

Also, i will post a fresh hijackthis log after reboot tommorow :)
