What can I upgrade......all help please!

Hi I have the below pc that I purchased 3 years ago from PC Specialist and happily been using if for video editing and gaming, only issue I've just found is when playing the latest Fallout 4 after 6 hours it started to freeze up and the case got very hot!!!

I'm a novice on building and upgrading pc's hence why I purchased direct from a company that builds them.

What could I upgrade to try and bring the below pc specs up-to-date......I think cooling, graphics are my main objective......I think?

Usually when PSU is just generic "XXX watts", it's cheapest one. Quad rail tells same thing. Similarly, when cooler is just "ultra low noise super high tech", quality is probably below average.

Have you never cleared dust from case? If not, then it may be quite a sight after three year use. Also check that all fans are working.
 
Yep, check for dust inside cooling fans, blow out with a can of compressed air. Keep the can upright so you don't expel the liquid. If you think you need a better graphics card then upgrade the power supply because its garbage.
 
GTX 560 is getting a bit old.

Upgrade PSU and GPU and you'll be fine for a while.
 
Thank you, what brand and where to buy do you suggest please?

I'd like to fit myself if it's an easy upgrade etc

AndyG your from the UK right like me? Try scan.Co.uk or ebuyer.com or overclockers. Co.uk.

If you want fallout 4 at max settings at no higher than 1080p I'd go for a gtx 960 from whichever of those sites has it on offer. Grab yourself either a corsair, antec, seasonic, evga or if you want the creme of the crop (imo anyway) a superflower modular psu from overclockers. Make sure it's 80 plus at least and has a decent 12v rail with enough amps for the card you choose. And 600w overall for some headroom for a future card upgrade.

And definetley take the advice about dust clean up. I looked inside my case for the first time in 5 years 4 weeks ago. Needless to say I had my work cut out for me.
 
What is your psu brand?
How many case fan have you got?
Things could upgrade are PSU, GPU, SSD, CPU heatsink

I wouldn't worry about what brand you have now even if it were an average / good brand I would still replace it with one of the brands I mentioned just because its 3 years old and when you get to 4 years it will definetely be time to replace. What's your budget ?

As cheap as possible really I'd expect it to be a couple of hundred which is around 20% of the original cost but not sure what things cost now? Cheers

You wont need a new PSU. The one you have is fine. Just put a nice 960/970 in there and enjoy. Any upgrades after that will be SSD and faster RAM, in that order. Put your OS on the SSD and everything else on the existing HDD.
