i am new to a lot of this stuff. i want to upgrade my video card to play games but i am not sure which one to get. i have a dell inspiron 530s. 250 w power supply, pci express 16x slot. what is the best card i can get with these specs. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

You definately need to look into a power supply upgrade. There is sweet little out there that will work with a 250W unit.
Once you take care of your power supply, there are a billion choices for at varying price points.

The 530s is a slimline pc right?
maybe someone else knows about upgrading slimline computers...correct me if im wrong but you may have issues with pci cards fitting.

when looking for a power supply, get a microatx, and when looking for a videocard, get a low profile card.
i'd say those are the best options though

hello, I would like to know how good is my video card I have a Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset family i'm not sure if that is the model because my computer show 2, or mobile intel GMA X3100 , and I would like to know how beter is?thanks
Hey, you have integrated graphics on your computer. It's not particularly useful for anything other than regualr computer tasks, definately not for gaming.
And as it is in a laptop, you technically can't upgrade so you best best is to build a desktop and customize it or buy a new laptop with a dedicated graphics processor in it.

agreed. the 250watt power supply will need an upgrade, i suggest something with modular cables.. especially for a dell computer case.
also, the video card i suggest is the radeon HD 4850. its got the best performance to price ratio in my opinion, priced around $150.
