What card to buy?

So anyways i currently have a nvidia quadro 3500 (Which is awsome for graphics). But considering i have 2 monitors i want to hook up another card for gaming. I mostly play games like CNC 3 and HL 2 and perhaps others if my video card could handle it .

My budget is about $1000.00 let me know what the best deal is though as i would not really like to spend the whole budget

Get the latest 9800 GX2 then. It'll be a killer card for anything.

That's a rendering card though. Do you want a Quadro or FireGL series? Or are you looking for a regular desktop video card? If so here's the best one currently:

The 9800gx2 is undoubtedly the best.. but if it please Op I'd point him towards a 8800gts for $250+-. A quarter of his budget but very powerful. It will become prudent to purchase another card quicker this route, there is no doubt, but till then i can think of a thousand things i'd rather spend an extra $300-750 on.
