What chip would you run

I have a socket 939 mobo, godo ram, and a nice video card. Right now I have a amd 64 3700+ single core. I am looking to upgrade. Within reason what chip would you run?
 
I would upgrade to the X2 series, maybe the 4200+ or something. If you have alot of money, then you can get the FX60.
 
I would have a hard time recommending that you put any more money into a Socket 939 system. Just wait until you can do a more major upgrade, instead of putting more money into an old system
 
Best you can get for 939 is X2. The FX isnt worth the money, its just an X2 with a fancy name. If you dont wanna OC, you can get the X2 5000+ i think it is, the top end X2 and it will be cheaper then the FX-62 but its the same thing. If you can OC, you can get the X2 4000+ and OC it to perform the same as the FX-62.
 
I just built this system less than a year ago.. but it was before the AM2 socket came out, I already had $$$ ram.. so I am not going to blow a ton of money for a new mobo and ddr2 ram... I would rather toss the best chip i can get for the board on it and sport that. Im pretty sure that a nice x2 chip, my 10,000rpm rapter and the 512 meg video card should leave me in good shape for another year...

Yea, that would last you at least 2 more years if the card you speak of is DX10....(GF8 series)....if not, your gonna need a DX10 card for the next year.

But the X2 processor should get you by. Its a pretty fast processor if you get the higher models or OC the lower ones like mine.

For one thing the 5000 and 62 are not 939s, in AM2 the 5000 and FX 62 are not the same. The FX 62 is 2.8ghz and unlocked with 1mb of L2, the X2 5000 is 2.6ghz with 512 of L2. The X2 5600 is the same as the FX 62 with locked X. And show me some of these X2 4000 939s
